On April 7, 2021, Dalian General Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary World Peace has launched a complete set of smart home ZigBee based on NXP i.MX RT1020 and JN51xx Develop system solutions (including gateway boards, APPs, and cloud services).
Smart home is a home ecosystem composed of housing as a platform, using integrated wiring technology, network communication technology, security technology, automatic control technology, and audio and video technology. Compared with ordinary homes, smart homes not only have traditional living functions, but also integrate facilities related to home life and provide users with a full range of intelligent interactive functions through an intelligent control system.

The ZigBee 3.0 gateway solution based on NXP i.MX RT1020 and JN51xx launched by Dalian World Peace can be used in smart home design, bringing users a safe and fast connection experience. The solution has the functions of remote control of equipment, remote acquisition of equipment status, local scene, free control of other products and indicator light feedback. In circuit design, this solution adopts NXP RT1020, built-in Cortex M7 core, with up to 500MHz main frequency, with high performance, low cost, easy development and so on.
Not only that, the solution also complies with the ZigBee 3.0 specification, and has the characteristics of interconnection with other manufacturers’ products, long transmission distance, self-healing self-organized network, stable bottom layer, and short development cycle. At present, Dalian Da Shiping has provided developers with free evaluation boards, APPs and cloud services in the market.

Among them, NXP RT1020 has a wealth of peripheral interfaces: including 4-way I2C interface, 4-way SPI interface, Ethernet interface, 8-way Uart, 3-way I2S/SAI, providing designers with a hardware foundation for scalable peripherals.
The ZigBee part is in the form of a module, and because the NXP JN5189 peripheral circuit is simple, only a crystal oscillator and a small amount of capacitors are needed to build the smallest system. The BALUN single RF output port design and transmit power up to 10dB can not only save the designer RF circuit design but also reduce the cost of external PA.
